FAQ

  • Is the event free? Yes, the event is free to attend.

  • Is the event dog friendly? No, with the loud sounds from the chainsaws, we do not recommend for you to bring your dog, but as it is an outside event you may bring them at your own risk.

​

  • Is there seating? Yes, limited seating will be provided, we recommend you bring your own chair.

​

  • Will there be vendors? Yes, many vendors will be in attendance for your enjoyment.

​

  • What time are the events? The competition starts at 9:00am, we move through each category listed but can not provide specific times as we have an unknown amount of competitors in each event.

​

  • How can I compete? You must have your own equipment, safety gear and sign a waiver, registration begins at 8:00 am, each event costs $10 to enter. There is a mandatory safety meeting at 8:45 am for competitors.

  • Do you allow pre-registration? No, we only accept in person registration and payment before the event. We do not sell or complete any transactions online or remotely.

​

  • Are there any prizes? Yes, each category except, Work Saw, has cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for both men and women categories. Overall points can be earned to place in the overall men and women category for the grand prize.

​

  • What is the Work Saw category? It is designed to allow most anyone with their own chainsaw to try their hand at competing. It is a $20 entry fee into a hat, winner takes all cash pot.

​

  • Are there any age limitations to compete? Yes, to compete you must be at least 12 years old and have a valid waiver on file with us.

​

  • Should I bring my kid? Yes, this is a family friendly event, please keep in mind that it is loud but there is plenty of space to walk away from the arena area if needed. 

​

  • What is the kids half-time show? The kids half time show is a time for kids of any age to participate in a simple competition sponsored by PVT. This allows the competitors and event staff a mid-day break. All kids are welcome, prizes given out to all.

​

  • What time is the kids half time show? It is mid-day usually around 11:30am or noon depending on how many competitors we have signed up for the show.​

​

  • Is Lumberjack Day a non-profit organization? Yes, we are a 501C3 non-profit organization. We fundraise from local businesses to cover operating expenses and to ensure fair prizes for our competitors. We run 100% on volunteers and donations.

​

  • How can I support the event? We have limited T-shirts and merchandise available for set donations at the event, please stop by our tent to support Cloudcroft Lumberjack Day.

​

  • How do I become a vendor? Vendor spaces are currently handled by The Cloudcroft Chamber of Commerce, you may call them at 575-682-2733 for more information.

​

  • How do I become a sponsor? We have a print deadline of August 1st, please email us about sponsoring next year.
